All you need is one large pot, a variety of seafood and vegetables, and some seasonings and you will have a delicious meal that the whole family will love.

Prep Time

For this One Pot Clambake recipe, you will need to allow at least 1 hour of prep time. This includes the time to clean and prepare the seafood, chop the vegetables, and assemble all the ingredients. Once the prep is done, the cooking time is fairly quick.

Cook Time

The actual cooking time for this recipe is only about 10 minutes. All you have to do is bring the pot of ingredients to a boil, reduce the heat to a simmer, and let it cook for 10 minutes. Then you can turn off the heat and let the clambake sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Ingredients

For this One Pot Clambake recipe, you will need: 1 pound of small clams, 1 pound of mussels, 1 pound of shrimp, 1 pound of crab legs, 1 large onion, 2 celery stalks, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 2 cups of vegetable broth, and 1 teaspoon of salt. You can also add other vegetables of your choice such as carrots, potatoes, and bell peppers.

Instructions

To make this One Pot Clambake, start by cleaning and preparing the seafood. Scrub the clams and mussels to remove any debris, and de-vein the shrimp. Peel and roughly chop the onion and celery, and mince the garlic. Set aside the seafood and vegetables while you heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and celery and sauté for 3 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté for an additional minute. Next, add the oregano, thyme, and paprika and stir to combine. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a boil. Add the clams, mussels, and shrimp to the pot and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, or until the clams and mussels have opened. Add the crab legs and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and season with the salt. Let the clambake sit for 5 minutes before serving. You can serve the clambake with fresh crusty bread or over cooked white rice. Enjoy!

Equipment

For this recipe, you will need one large pot, a cutting board, a sharp knife, and a spoon or spatula for stirring.

Notes

Be sure to discard any clams or mussels that do not open during cooking. This is an indication that they were not alive when they were added to the pot and should not be eaten.
