Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.
2. In the slow cooker, combine the crushed tomatoes, onion, garlic, oregano, basil, sugar and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
3. Place the meatballs into the sauce and stir to coat. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
4. Serve over cooked pasta or polenta with a sprinkle of fresh parsley, if desired.
